Youtube Video Shows Alleged Cruise Ship Predator

Monday, March 5th, 2012

Senad Djedovic, 29, of Bosnia and Herzegovina, shown below in the youtube video, is a cruise line worker accused of having sex with a 16 year old girl while he was working as an employee on the Norwegian Star cruise ship. He is also accused of sharing explicit photographs with the girl.

What makes this case interesting is just how routine all of this seemed to Djedovic. He is said to have showed some of the explicit photos of the 16 year old girl to some of his co-workers, telling them that the girl was 16 years old. He is also reported to potentially have had photos of other underage girls on his computer.

So, the next time you cruise, just remember – a recent study found that approximately 50% of cruise line sexual assaults are perpetrated by cruise line crew.

Costa Allegra Disabled At Sea By On Board Fire

Monday, February 27th, 2012

The Costa cruise ship “Allegra,” carrying more than 1,000 passengers, was disabled in the Indian Ocean today by an on board fire. The ship became disabled more than 200 miles off the Seychelles island, in waters that are notorious for its pirate activity. The ship is now being towed by a fishing vessel.

Conditions aboard the ship are said to be safe, and no one was hurt in the fire, which was in a generator room.

Costa Cruise Lines is owned by Florida based Carnival Cruise Lines. In a statement the company said “The shipboard fire-extinguishing system and emergency procedures were activated promptly and special fire-fighting squads extinguished the fire.â€

For added security, several members of the Italian Navy are aboard the ship, in order to prevent any attack by pirates.

The Allegra is a 20 year old ship. It had left Madagascar on Saturday, with a scheduled stop at the port of Victoria on Tuesday. Officials say the the ship will reach land sometime Thursday.
